Well it’s been awhile since I wrote my last blog post and had my victory lap. Unfortunately, I may have celebrated a little too prematurely. Since my low weight 8 months ago, I have gained 38 lbs. Wow… as I write this and do the math, it kind-of becomes more real. Continue reading
I just noticed that I had my 10,000th view on this blog. Hooray! Thanks to everyone who has visited.
If it weren’t for those who read, commented and supported me, I probably would not have had the weight-loss success that I enjoy!
Cheers,
Larry

When I stepped on the scale this morning I was pretty surprised to find that I am more-or-less the same weight as I was a month ago. For the past year I have dieted and lost 75+ lbs. I ended my diet 7-lbs short of my goal, due to a ‘plateau.’ As recommended in the Dukan Diet book I started the ‘consolidation phase.’ This basically consists of protein + vegetable days everyday and once per week you can have a ‘celebration meal.’ I must admit the idea of a restriction-free meal is ultimately what convinced me to prematurely stop the weight-loss phase of this diet. There are few comfort foods that are quite as good as meatloaf. I have listed two versions of these meatloaves, depending on your sauce preference.
This recipe was inspired by Ina Garten’s individual meatloaves.

Celebrating my Wife’s birthday this past weekend had a lot to do with my decision to end the weight-loss portion of this diet. I had been consciously trying to lose weight for 3 weeks short of one year. During that time I have lost 76 lbs (83lbs at my one-time low). Continue reading

I haven’t written any progress updates over the past 2 months because I haven’t made any real progress over that time. When I look back at my weight-loss logs I realize that I am at the same weight that I was in early December (about 4 months ago). I have been faithfully adhering to my regime, and I think it’s about time that I start to entertain the notion that I may not be able to lose anymore weight. Continue reading

I stumbled across these Roasted Seaweed Snacks while shopping at Trader Joe’s. These ‘chips’ are a great substitute for those salty, crunchy cravings that we usually associate with potato chips. There isn’t a whole lot of substance here so don’t expect them to fill you up.
Over the past two weeks I have finally buckled down, been more strict with my eat eating, and returned to my workouts. With that being said, over that time I have gained 1.1 lbs.
I am not sure what to make of this. I am fairly disappointed, but there is a chance that I am starting to build more muscle and I may have continue to rebound from my bout with the flu. What ever the reason, I will just have to keep on keepin’ on. I am probably not going reach my goal weight in two weeks, as I hoped.
